Lines in Photography
Lines are extremely important in the creation of an image and are usually incorporated within most pictures, whether subtle or dramatic, the use of lines is important for a photographer to understand when arranging their composition. Lines are used to move the viewers eyes into and around the picture and create depth. The line or lines can be of any shape or angle and not always found in man made constructions etc. There are also lines that exist in nature for example a stem of a flower, mountains separated by foggy or hazy ridge-lines, the horizon and a row of tree tops, cracks in ice, rocks and stones, cliffs, tree bark, leaves and bird feathers, ripples in water or even a spiders web on a fence, lines are abundant in nature.
