mathew's sermon
In, “Mathew’s Sermon on the Mount,” Jesus says that “you are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? Jesus continues by saying, “It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.” What does this mean? To me, it means that everybody is born into this earth pure and good; but turns bitter from the temptations of the world. Although, the ones who fall into the temptations of the world can purify themselves and regain their taste once again. They don’t have to be trampled on or thrown away. I believe that everybody on earth is born with innocence. We all had a truthful and purely good conscious that didn’t know any better at one point in our lives. The Indians believed that newborn babies could understand nature’s language, which comes from the water, the flowers, the wild creatures and the winds, but later forget it.
