Nguyen 1 Essay # 1 Significant Moment. Through Out my teenage years, I have met many peoples and made many friends. But for some unknown reasons, eventually we would stop talking or seeing one another as time goes by. Until about 5 months before my twentieth birthday is when I met my god brothers, the peoples that I will never stop seeing or talking to, because they are the people who would forever change my life and who I am. I still remembered so clearly the very first time that I talked to one of them. It was on Friday, January 18 of 2002. I was at home in my room watching television when my phone rang, after a couple of rings I picked up. Surprisingly it was my best friend from high school, “ Hey man, what are you doing?” he said. At first I didn’t want to tell him that I was at home on a Friday night when everyone I know is going out, having fun and enjoying the weekend. But then I replied back to him, “ Nothing, am just watching TV at home”. I wanted to ask him what he was doing, but I have the feeling that he’s not doing any better than I am. In fact I could tell that he was at home bored and doesn’t have anything to do what so ever. We continue being quiet to each other on the phone and then all the suddenly out of the blues, he said “ Hung, do you want to go check out this Vietnamese and café and karaoke shop that just opened up on Bellaire?” To tell you the truth I didn’t really want to go and was fixing to say no, but a thought came across my head that I wasn’t doing anything, might as well just go and check it out. “ Sure, I don’t see why not, get ready and I’ll pick you up at your house in 30 minute so that we can go,” Nguyen 2 I said. He agreed and we finally hang up the phone. I went and put on my clothes, made sure that I smelled good, look good just incase a special occasion pop up. After I was finish getting ready, I was on my way of picking up my friend. Pulling up to his driveway, I saw him running full speed at my car trying to scare me and make me jump. But one thing, I guess that since we are so use to playing around with each other like that.
