For an outside class activity, I watched the film The Battle of Algiers. This was a black and white film that was spoken in French. It had subtitles. This film is about the people of Algeria revolting against French colonization. The movie starts out by the people of Algiers, forming a revolt against the French rulers. They do this by sneaking through places in their country with weapons, usually guns, and shooting the police officers. At first the French try to react and put and end to this by setting up posts where the Algerians were checked for carrying weapons, but usually they found ways around that, such as sending women into do it, because they were less suspicious of women.
