The Ku Klux Klan also known as the KKK was created in 1865 and the founder and leader of the KKK was Nathan Bedford Forrest. The main goal of the KKK was white superiority. To reach this goal they would reach to violence and terrorization on blacks. The KKK used white robes and white masks to hide their faces. The KKK was also known as the Invisible Empire. In 1871 a bill was passed that gave the president authority to use military troops against the KKK.
