Nancy Nancy is a fictional character in the novel “Oliver Twist” which was written by Charles Dickens in 1838. She is a strange character as she is usually the protagonist, but in some parts she is the antagonist, for instance when she mugged Oliver. Nancy is obviously from a shabby background and due to poverty, has been forced into leading a criminal life.
