One of these monumental characters was Elvis. From his humble beginnings to his rise through stardom, Elvis has forever left his mark on rock and roll. Elvis was born to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two-room house in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935. As he grew up, he had many musical influences from his surroundings.
