Quick speech done on the novel popcorn by ben elton. explaining the issue of responsibility
“ I had a vision of a world in which Hollywood directors are in prison for murder, and real killers are on Oprah, whining about how Hollywood renders them dysfunctional. And since that time, actually, its all coming true. We now see Oliver Stone being sued by victims of violence in America, the perpetrators of which were thought to have watched Natural Born Killers. “ have watched Natural Born Killers. “ This is a quote from the Canberra chronicle may 1997 of when Ben Elton was interviewed by Glen Phillips. Ben Elton was born on 3 May 1959, in Catford, South London to a distinguished academic family, whom had originally fled to England in 1938 to escape Hitler's anti-Semitism. Ben's father and uncle were professors at Surrey and Cambridge Universities, and his grandfather was a renowned classical historian in Prague who lost his professorship when Hitler invaded. The youngest of four, he went to Godalming Grammar school, joined amateur dramatic societies and wrote his first play at 15. He wanted to be a stagehand at the local theatre, but instead did A-Level Theatre Studies and studied drama at Manchester University in 1977. From there he started on his career as a stand up comedian and then began writing books and writing play scripts which is what brought him to the status he is today.
