They hath many blasphemous and obscene rituals, that durst defie the Skies, but this=s so Blasphemy that we art shock=d. Sirrah, my eyes hath percieveth these Knights of the Temple, and their heresy come known to me. Those Heretics kneel ere the statue of Satan, offering him sacrifices of flesh. But this be the beginning of their blasphemy. Lo, they cometh to a chamber, a fill=d with red light and dark images of Lucifer. In the midst of the chamber, Sits a table, and upon is a head of a man, red of hair and beard, dirty and unkempt, and hideous to look upon. They approacheth the head, and bring gifts to it, and the room overfloweth with riches untold, given to honour him. And >tis said that in return the Head allow them to give healing and powers to the peoples, feats which we in our ignorance deigneth to be a blessing Divine... This, in short would be an excerpt from the AProsecution@ against Jacques de Molay, the last known Grandmaster of the Templar, Knights of the Temple, Defenders of the Holy Land, Protectors of the Christ=s Grave. The same knights who once were nine in number and they rode two upon one horse because of their poverty. Rarely has such a brazen accusation been placed on such undeserving a person, who denied the claims >till the bitter end, even though he was tortured on such ways that it would make Himmler green with envy. I shall attempt to rectify those misconceptions and falsehoods from my lore, coming from four years of reading and exploring the mysterious world of secret orders and societies, despite my limited sources. We shall descend into the depths of deceit envy and lies. Templar, Masons and the mysterious Sionic Priorate. Chronologically, I shall attempt to clarify many questions concerning those brotherhoods, societies and orders. Disclaimer: Any potentially false statements that the reader might perceive are not intentional. I shall name my sources on the end of the project. These *might* be due to the complexity and seclusiveness of the topic, as well as because of the time in which those events took place. Once again my friends, my hearty regrets for any discomfort or confusion. The Knights Templar Our story begins approximately 884 years ago, when Hugo de Payen, a noble from Champagne and a vassal of Count of Champagne appeared with his eight friends in the palace of Badouin I., King of Jerusalem, whose elder brother Godfried de Bouillon conquered the Holy Land 19 years earlier. They were welcomed by the king and the nobles, and were given an entire wing of the palace to use. These events were written down by only ONE person ever, William de Tyre, a historian and a scribe on the French Court who wrote extensively about the Knights Templar. William names not his sources, and he writes about events that he says took place 50 years before he wrote them down. This can easily question his claims, but nevertheless he says that the Order of the Poor Knights of Christ and the Solomon=s Temple came to, as he said: As much as possible keep the roads safe, especially those used by pilgrims, and to safeguard the holy places, Christ=s grave being the foremost, from the infidels= defiling. The legend says that their quarters were built upon the ruins of the ancient Salomon=s Temple, and so this order got its name. In the next nine years, William says, they didn=t accept a single new acolyte to their order, which seems odd. But it becomes unbelievable when we look at their task, to safeguard the holy places and to keep the roads safe. Nine people to do that? Not bloody likely. Unless they weren=t here to do that and unless they knew/had something they didn=t want outsiders to know, this seems a very silly thing to do. However, there was one true historian that was in the Holy Land at that time and unlike William de Tyre, he lived and should have witnessed those events, as he was a royal historian at the court of the King of Jerusalem. His name is Fulco de Chartres.
