Satire in The Emperor’s New Clothes and Inflexible Logic
Satirical works are one in which human vice or folly is attacked through irony, derision, or wit. Many writers like to use this to get their messages across in a not so straight forward mannerism. Satire is supposed to make you think, and analyze. Sometimes interpretation seems almost too easy, but then you dig deeper and retrieve its true roots. Satire always has a specific target, or point, it tries to get across to the reader. One such satirical work is the infamous “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. It is a Horatian work which involves two swindlers pretending to create a new outfit for the emperor. The material used can only be seen by worthy folks, who are smart enough to see it – of course this is far from the truth.
