Two very important elements of those are language and imagery. Poets use these techniques to entertain and capture their audience depending how they use them. They also use these elements to achieve a desired effect depending on what they are writing about. For poets, what they write and how they write in a poem is extremely important. Language is the way poets express and dictate what he or she wants to communicate. The language used in poetry is very carefully selected. Even though there are different words having the same meaning, picking the right one will make the difference of capturing the reader or not.
