Drama: Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ The first video extract was, in my view, a bland example of staging Act1 Scene7. The great, ‘Manipulation scene’, was acted by Dame Judy Dench (lady Macbeth) and Ian McKellin (Macbeth). It was directed by Trevor Nunn. Both actors were dressed in black- the entire background was black. The only thing you could differentiate from the black was their pale faces. It did become boring but was well acted their expressions kept you interested. The way Macbeth looks into the camera when he speaks in a deep tone suggests some sort of evil within him- encouraged by Lady Macbeth.
