beauty a manipulated stage
Beauty: A Manipulated Stage Every culture gives many meanings to beauty. Although, beauty is defined as a delightful quality associated with such things as harmony of form or color, truthfulness, or originality; I believe that beauty is a perfect combination between an inherent quality and a social development constructed for many reasons. The first reason is an economic achievement; the second reason why beauty is a combination of these two factors is because it is a great power of self-esteem, and the last reason why beauty is a quality socially constructed is due to social success. The first reason why beauty is a combination of an inherent quality and social effects is due to the importance that American society has given to the image of any human being. According to this issue, Henig says, “Since before Cleopatra’s day, women have been judged by the way they look, and they have struggled mightily to make themselves look the way they want to be judged.” (Atwan 62). Moreover, contemporary American culture has standards for beauty that exploit and create a wrong image of beauty using the women as an element to increase sells or marketing with the purpose of showing beauty as a power to succeed in an economic field .For example, the majority of advertisement in television, magazines or journals shows how attractive people enjoys life more than unattractive people by driving wonderful cars, getting better jobs, and having more opportunities in huge companies.
