The parts of a motor are a team working together to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. The parts, their descriptions and how they work are explained below: Armature The coil is wound onto a frame called an armature. It is usually made of ferromagnetic material (something that conducts magnetism well). The armature is usually free to rotate an axle called the armature axle. This sticks out of the motor and rotates with the coil and is used to do the work the motor is designed for.
