R.E essay In this essay I am going to describe and evaluate 3 different world religions beliefs on suffering, the creation of the world, how God is thought as, own opinions of God and people’s experience of God. Atheist: An atheist is someone who does not believe in God. Theist: A theist is someone who believes in God. Agnostic: An agnostic is somebody who doesn’t know whether they believe in God or not. Free will: Free will is when somebody believes that God has given people the choice to be either Holy and worship God or be bad and be punished when she/he is dead. In Christianity, it is believed that God created the world in 7 days and rested on the 7th day, but scientists believe that the world was created when a huge explosion, known as ‘the big bang theory’ happened when two gases reacted and created the earth. Some scientists would say that this proves that God does not exist and that science is right, whereas if somebody believes in God and Science could say that the big bang theory is absolutely correct but would then question who put the gases that caused the explosion in the first place? At the moment scientists cannot really reply to this question. The way the world is made people believe in God because it is too well organised that living organisms can live most of the time perfectly, and also the way the body is designed too well that in most human beings, all the systems work in perfect order and couldn’t have been just by chance. On the other hand people could say that people who suffer terminal illnesses and pain in the world such as rape, murder, assault and other such means then God is a pretty poor design in their eyes.
