Each year the company where I worked held an annual spa day at La Costa Resort & Spa in La Costa, California. This was a way for the company to thank our clients for their continued business throughout the year. Each year the president would select a certain number of employees to be a part of the spa day event. The first year I was one of several employees asked to participate in the annual spa day. I was very excited and could not wait to go this exclusive spa. It would be a whole day of pampering and self-indulgence with the best of everything for me. When I arrived at the resort, we started the day at 8:00 am with a brisk two-mile walk around the scenic golf course.
