Indigenous religions are basically thousands of various globally scattered traditional religions of native cultures, pockets of people still following local sacred ways handed down from their remote ancestors and adapted to contemporary circumstances. They are the descendants of original inhabitants or first people in particular bioregions. Nature and spirit have the most significant part in all indigenous religions. Many traditional or indigenous people consider earth as their mother; the land they live is part of her body. In contrast to the industrial world’s attempts to use and dominate the earth, native people consider themselves as caretakers of their mother, the Earth. They raise their voice against the destruction of the environment. Some indigenous visionaries say that they can hear the earth crying. Humans have an intimate relationship with animals and other living things. In general, spirits have a tremendous impact on everyday human life. The traditional or indigenous people have their religious ideas, values and norms very closely connected with nature and animals. Trees, animals, insects, and plants are all to be approached with caution and consideration.
