Individuals should take responsibility for making their own good health. Individuals control their own lifestyle choices. Their diet, for example. It has become increasingly clear that diet plays an important role in our health. In addition, many of us use enormous quantities of consciousness-altering drugs, usually without even being aware that we are taking ‘drugs’. Our coffee contains the stimulant caffeine, cigarettes contain the stimulant nicotine, and alcohol is a powerful depressant drug. Individuals choose to use these substances and they are responsible for the consequences of the effects of the use of these substances. Part of the reason that some individual’s behavior is unhealthy is lack of knowledge.
