Hildegard of Bingen Birth 1098 in at Bermersheim bei Alzey (Bockelheim, Germany) in the diocese of Mainz. She was the tenth child in her family Death 17th September 1179, at the age of 81 Parents Hildebert and Mechtilide, were a noble family in Germany Education At the age of 8 Hildegard was sent to a convent and was raised and educated there. She was dedicated to the church by her parents and sent to an anchoress, Jutta for education at Disibodenberg Life Vocation To serve the church, to be a medieval prophet, a healer, an artist and a composer Visions Beginning as a young child Hildegard had visions.
