Uncle Junior
Uncle Junior The day couldn’t have been any sadder. It was cold and rainy and it matched the feelings of everyone at the funeral. It was October 20th 1993 and it was the day of my uncle, Junior’s, burial. Even though people tried to explain his death, I believe he was utterly to blame for. Because people are responsible for their own actions, he should have known that his troubled behavior would lead him nowhere but his death. When Junior was small, he was the type of person who was very easily led by others and at the same time got into trouble and liked to pick fights. My family says it’s because he never really had many friends and always wanted attention. But everyone thought this was part of his childhood behavior and that he’d grow out of it eventually. My family never considered that his behavior would lead him to stealing, using drugs and finally his death. When Junior was about fourteen or fifteen years old, he met a group of young boys in the park who were always in trouble.
