Ben was not an ordinary six-year-old boy. He was actually looked smaller then how old he really was, and he seemed to get along better with animals than with people. None of the people in North Corners, where he lived, knew quite what to make of him. This is because he spends his time imitating animals. Then on a day in June of 1870, Ben went on a nature walk and found himself lost.
