$ Perhaps one of the reasons that William Golding has such a negative view is because he was born three years before the first world war. $ He was a well educated smart man that would have his own opinion and actually thought about what was going on in one of the most terrifying parts of the worlds modern history. $ He was only seven years old when WW1 took place and he probably lost relatives that were close to him and even ones that weren=t close to him $ After the war once everything had been reestablished then the great depression came where many people lost jobs and what eventuated was death and poverty.
