No doubt you've heard the phrase "defense is an attitude" and you've probably even said it to your players. Do you really know what that attitude is? Do you know how to train that attitude? Every attitude or mentality can be trained to some extent, just like a skill can be trained. The elements needed to train the "defensive attitude" are technique, atmosphere, and repetition. The first thing that needs to be defined is the term "defensive attitude." This attitude is energetic, focused, competitive and relentless.
