Group Information System Project Jason Gotto, David Bragg, Clinton Sweeney, Scott Johnston The model for our project is to create an easy access directory that has a definitive list of Surfers Paradise holiday accommodation. This thus eliminates the task of looking for accommodation at different sources throughout several different directories. Our listings will offer accommodation for all travellers, from budget holidaymakers to five star luxury hotels. The efficiencies gained by the use of a single directory are of many including time saving (not using up internet hours), cost effective, and not having to gather information from different sources such as a travel agent. • Jason Gotto was responsible for the coordinating the teams activities as project leader. He also researched the information used within the system from several different sources and organised it into a logical format. • David Bragg was the appointed systems analyst. He analysed the current systems available to the public and thus developed a definitive list of proposed solutions for our information system. • Scott Johnston was responsible for the design of the database (e.g. colour scheme, font, layout). Also Scott and David both implemented the system design and programmed the database. • Clinton Sweeny was the selected as the Software and Hardware specialist. His job was to specify the software to be used in the I.S. and the hardware to be used in such things as the design. Jason outlined the problem or need our information system solves and detailed the composition and the work carried out by the group members. He also researched the information used in the information system. Clinton described the information technology tools that were used in the group work. He also named the project management tools that were used and detailed the time management through the creation of our information system. Scott described how each of the information processes was applied during the development of our information system. He and David also designed the information system. David explained all phases of the systems development cycle as applied in our information system. As a group, we all contributed to the diagram that shows the design of our information system and described the social and ethical issues relating to out information system.
