Element 1: Religious Experience When Confucius was little his father died and his mom had to be the growing model for him and put him through school. He was a good student and loved to learn, in fact he grew up to be a teacher and quickly had disciples fallowing him across china. What he wanted to do was apply the lessons of their ancients to everyday life and governmental problems. When he turned 50 he became a public official and had a small part in his government (called “The Duke of Lu”). He soon realized nothing was being accomplished with his life so he quit and for the next thirteen years before he died him and his disciples wondered around to try and spread his word. Element 2: Belief and Teachings Confucianism is based around “Universal Love”. They believe that the path to being human is that happiness lays in ones self to have harmony with nature and that a humans naturally act (both good and evil) are done involution of there nature.
