The great legend Walter Payton achieved many goals during his career as a running back in the National Football League. He broke and set many records while playing with the Chicago Bears. He broke Jim Brown’s NFL record for the most yards gained in a career and bettered it by 4,400 yards. He held eight NFL records, including single-game rushing mark of 275 yards, rushing attempts (3838), rushing yards (16,726), and rushing touchdown (110). The coaches loved his style so much the called him “Sweetness.” Walter Jerry Payton was born on July 25, 1954, in Columbia Mississippi, and died November 1, 1999.
