In the novel "Of Mice And Men" by John Steinbacks, it explores values and attitudes. these values and attitudes are linked to the general backgrounds and lifestyles endured by the main characters in the period in which the novel was written. nearly all characters, admit at one time or another to having a profound sense of loneliness and isolation. all the characters strongly value friendship and will settle for the attentive ear of a stranger.
