In One Ear and Out of the Other You hear it from television, you see it in billboards, stay in school. You see people struggle through simple everyday life because they have dropped out of school or haven’t continued on with their education. As a youth I of course did not listen but now see the importance of staying in school. It is my freshman year in high school and I am very excited everything is different, there are more kids and we are considered the underdogs as they say. Nothing like that concerns me since a lot of my friends from Junior High School have accompanied me to High School. I should have known from the start that was going to be bad business in the end. Everything is going fine as far as adjusting to the school but right at the closing of second quarter I fall very ill and fell behind in my studies and this started a lot of my troubles. I got discouraged because my grades were low and it was harder than I imagined getting them back on track so I finished my freshman year with 2 out of 5 possible credits. Off to summer school for me with no hope, summer school only offered courses where you could earn a half credit which was bummer for someone in my situation. I have finished summer school with the hope of starting off my next school year on a good note.
