The Sears Tower You have to look up, way up; standing in the midst of this extravagant building is enough to make anyone feel short. This towering skyscraper dominates the Chicago skyline in a way like no other, it’s an astounding 1,454 ft. tall, its name, The Sears Tower. This is the tallest building in North America, and until 1996 was the tallest in the world. Originally built to house office space for the many Sears employees, it has now become an exciting tourist attraction. The view from the observation deck is said to be an amazing site and the sheer size will astound you.
