"loveliest of Trees, the Cherry Now"
A.E. Housman’s “Loveliest of Trees, the Cherry Now” represents the enjoyment in a single moment. This is depicted through the speaker, a young man, who is walking throughout the woods. It is also shown through the figurative language throughout the poem. Housman showed a strong appreciation of nature, and an enjoyment of life at every moment. The title of the poem “Loveliest of Trees, the Cherry Now”, is an insinuation of what the poem is concerning. Throughout the poem, references to the cherry tree are made. It gives a visual picture of a forest full of trees covered in snow. The descriptions of the trees and the snow make you feel as though you are also there.
