Mr. Chairman, Gentlemen of the Floor, I stand before you this afternoon with the aim of trying to persuade yourselves that a war against Iraq has no place in today’s moral society but firstly I’d like to apologise on behalf of the gentlemen to my right. For once again, they have attempted to mislead intelligent and independent people like you. But let us forgive them for the gentlemen to my right have simply replicated what Britain and The United States of America have grown accustomed to in the past few months, and that is the concealment of the simple truth, that this war is not morally justified. Compelling and mighty speeches, “sensational revelations” may have brainwashed these men but I hope that I have arrived in time to stop these deceptive means from deceiving you decent people as well. I am not here this afternoon to argue whether Saddam Hussein is a good or bad man, nor whether a democratic country has the power to overrule its leaders in choices relating to actions towards war. I am here this afternoon to state the simple, yet plainly truthful fact (perhaps something that seems to be so lacking in President Bush’s commandments) that the war on Iraq is being partaken on grounds of retribution, with the desire to obtain wealth (through Iraq’s vast oil fields) and perhaps most worryingly with the aim of promoting American supremacy.
