Kelly felt 'betrayed' by MoD - widow Government weapons expert David Kelly said he felt "totally let down and betrayed" by the Ministry of Defence after it released his name to reporters, his widow Janice has told the Hutton Inquiry. Mrs Kelly said he held those feelings because "they were the ones that effectively let his name be known in the public domain". Earlier, Mrs Kelly told the inquiry that Dr Kelly was being considered in May this year - just before the storm broke - for an honour in the 2004 New Year's Honours List, and that her husband, aged 59, had been thinking about retirement in 2005.
