Life in the prison system demands much more than obediance.through prisons all in virginia there are killings beatings and illegal activities going on.most prisoners are set in different groups that they themselves organize.1.is blacks and whites 2.is gang related organizations. 3.is short timers and lifers.You have many groups of people in the prisons throughout virginia and most being involved in criminal activities are angry that they are confined.Some prisoners will do whatever it takes to get out of there while others except the consequences that they have been sentenced to and will do anything to survive including prostitution stealing and killing or fighting in general.beiang incarcerated in a facility that only allows you to make up to 30 cents an hour leaves little or no money after your basic needs such as hygiene,which in result leaves virginia prisoners angry and hardened by the experience some doing more than 700 years.inmates in virginia prisons go to prisons based on the velocity of the crimes that they have or have been charged with commiting.ranging from levels 1-4.one being the lowest which allows you to go to road camps and so fourth and 4 being the highest which you will pull 100% of the time sentenced to you in which number one will only do 85% also in a level 4 prison you are locked down 23 hours of the day.And much more likely to become hurt by volatile or hardened criminals due to the crimes.most prisoners try to pass there time by forgetting about the outside world especially those sentenced to expanded sentences mwhile others look forward to getting to see there families and try to remember the good things about the life that they once had outside the prison gates and look forward to seeing again in which case this percent of people is mostly short timers doing short sentences.
