Response to “Taliban begins destroying history” When I first read the article “Taliban begins destroying history”, I was shocked to learn that the disrespect for ancient artifacts and human history still exists in the world today. Besides the fact that the Buddha statues are magnificent findings for architecture and archeology, they are also spectacular cultural monuments and are a part the world’s heritage. Destroying such antiquities would be destroying history, and therefore, diminishing a part of our past, a part of who we are.
