The writer of this passages is writing to discuss the pro’s and con’s of e- mail. As he begins to think about e-mail, he sees many different ways in which he hates it. The more he thinks and reads upon his mail his opinions then change from hate to like. The authors opening statement of this passage is very evident in the way his emotions drastically change from one paragraph to the next. Upon arriving home from a vacation Leonard is greeted with 1,218 e- mail messages.
