Hammurabi's Law
Hammurabi’s Law The style of justice indicates that Hammurabi was very big on materialistic values and possessions and money were always used as compensation whether it is your eye, arm, life, wife, or children. Victims were always remunerated in that of which they lost or the offender was paid in the damages that he cost the victim. Social distinction was the major way of defining just recompense. Also, consumers had specific protections and suppliers had specific rights. Social distinction played a dominant role in the Babylonian Society and women weren’t allowed ownership over anything materialistic. For example an inferred rank goes as follows: captain, official, soldier, free man, peasant, son, free woman, daughter.
