5th October 1911 Dear Misses One year has passed since I wrote you the last letter. I’m writing you in English just to show you how much I’ve learned during my stay over here. And since I know that Misses know this language very well, I thought that this would be a great opportunity for both of us to practise the language. The family I’m with has helped me a lot with the language learning. Every night the lady in the house has given me a private language lesson, she used to be a teacher, and wanted to use some of her skills to teach me the language as well.
