Taking a Risk Teenagers rebel against their parents for various reasons. Often times, the reason for the rebellion may have to do with wanting more attention from their parents; other times it could just mean having some adolescent fun. In my case, I just wanted to have some fun. I made a poor judgment and acted selfishly. Generally, every teenager is excited to go out and be independent at a young age. I wanted to express my independence by driving a car. When I was sixteen, I received my drivers permit. Although the law states that the vehicle operator must have the correct supervision at all times, and until they receive their drivers license, I chose to disobey this law and drive alone. One night, when I was feeling rebellious, I made the mistake of taking out my mothers brand new car for a test drive. I wanted to meet up with some friends but did not have a ride to get there. It had gotten late and soon everyone in my house had went to bed. I made the choice to take my mothers car keys and drive to where my friends were.
