“Sex can wait- I’m worth it!” These words are heard on the radio many times a day, and can be found on posters all over the place. Unfortunately, many teenagers don’t adhere to this slogan, due to pressure from peers, the media, or other sources. Many teens find themselves in situations where they have to pay the consequences for their bad choices. Premarital sex is a bad idea for teenagers; it can lead to unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) , and can also cause irreparable emotional effects. Sexual relationships among teens present physical and emotional risks, and abstinence is the only good way to postpone those risks. Unwanted pregnancy is the one of the most common results of teen sex. Sometimes it can be the worst. Many times, when a girl has to tell her parents and boyfriend that she is pregnant, bad situations can arise. In most cases, a girl will not have told her parents that she is sexually active, so any feelings of trust between her and her parents have been violated.
