When gas prices go up, it forces students to make tough decisions, like whether they should spend their money on food or on gas, and that is not only bad for the students but for the economy as well. Many students are not used to having to make these decisions. Chelsie Christiansen a general education freshman from Utah is one student who is having a hard time adjusting to the prices in Hawaii. "Gas prices here are already too high. I can't afford to eat, and now I can't afford to drive." Christiansen said. When gas prices are high, fingers get pointed, usually at the economy or the wars, but this time it seems to be the bus strike taking the blame.
