David Rosinski Vladimir Lenin Dr. Wright September 16, 2003 Vladimir Ilich Lenin was the founder of the Russian communist party, leader of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, and first head of the USSR. Lenin was also a great political thinker whose theories were recognized by the many other communist leaders. Lenin is known as the founder of Russian communism. Lenin was born on April 22, 1870 in Ulyanovsk which was named in his honor near the Volga River.
