The National Treasury Department is recruiting students from various institutions for internship. Department’s representatives Mr Logan Wort, Ms Amanda Rudolph and Ms Lindani Mbunyuza made a presentation to a group of about 100 students at Fort Hare recently. “We are targeting the postgraduate students with Economics & Finance, Accounting, Procurement Management, Public Management, Communication, etc”, said Logan. The maximum number of students required fort the internship is 40 nationally. Logan said those who qualify “will obtain a meaningful work experience, an opportunity for networking and potential work related reference”.The Images of Transkei photographic exhibition by Dr Pauline Ingle, which opens in East London this week, is a celebration of traditional Xhosa lifestyle and ritual in the Transkei from 1948 – 1976, featuring many customs since disappeared. Although Ingle had no formal photographic training, throughout her years as a mission doctor equipped with two Leica cameras, she regularly photographed the people and community events around them. “This photographic collection provides a remarkably, vivid and intimate window into rural life in a remote part of the former Transkei, during a period of dramatic political and economic change.
