Computer consulting is one of my long-term goals. Since I have been in the insurance industry for the past 10 years, I would prefer to provide my services to property & casualty(P&C) insurance carriers. I would focus on development of computer-based training (CBT) software. There is a large need for standardized training within the P&C industry. From claims adjusting to underwriting, the different positions within this industry require alot of specialized training. Several states require insurance professionals to be licensed. A requirement of maintaining the license is continuing education credits. Therefore, there is a large demand for insurance training materials. Many companies are utilizing web-based training versus classroom based training as a way of delivering information to their employees. As a consultant and developer of CBTs, I could tap into this market. In order to be competitive in this market it would be necessary for my business to have a presence on the Internet. Therefore, if I am able to realize my goal, I would develop a website as a way to not only market my services, but to allow for interaction with my customers.
