Was Hamlet insane, or only pretending? That is the question. In this play Shakespeare leads Hamlet through a variety of circumstances. Some instances yielding him to a more delusional state, and some instances into a revengeful state. Hamlet, put through a whirlwind of emotions, was faced with the question himself if he was insane. Hamlet in the end, though, will prove to us all he was of clear noble character. When Hamlet’s father died he was distraught, but when his uncle married his mother he became very bitter. Then to see his father’s ghost will fill Hamlet with so many issues; that he will have to figure out how to resolve each one. When his girlfriend Ophelia notices that something is bothering Hamlet she tries to ask him; but Hamlet, being unsure about what he is going to do tries to elude the question by acting a little off the wall. This may be because all of the current events in his life have made him uneasy, but I believe he does not want Ophelia to become involved.
