Stand Up for Immigrant Rights! Immigrant Worker Freedom Ride, Sept. 20-Oct. 4 More than nine million undocumented workers who live in the United States today lack basic legal protections and human rights, living in constant fear of round-ups, detentions, and deportation. This September, immigrant workers and their allies - inspired by the Freedom Riders of the Civil Rights Movement - will set out from nine major U.S. cities and cross the country to call for full protection of their civil rights and civil liberties. United for Peace and Justice has endorsed the Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride and encourages our supporters to join one of the many solidarity rallies planned along the way or come to New York City for a massive culminating rally in Flushing Meadows Park on October 4.
