View of Marriage in the Taming of the Shrew
The poetry and play of “The Taming of the Shrew” is an epic comedy and drama of the unique views on why the characters marry whomever they did for true love and true greed. Many people have different opinions on what reasons the characters have to marry the people that they did. On my opinion, I believe the characters have chosen the people for more sacred reasons than greed. Overall, the poetry “the Taming of the Shrew”, shows many dimensions to love than what some people comprehend. In this story, different characters elaborated on whom they want to marry, and what reason he or she had to marry this certain person. In this story, many of the male characters, like Petruchio, went to Padua to marry a wealthy woman just for money reasons, not love. As this story progressed, the true love blossomed from greed.
