The two basic dating scripts are good times versus commitment. Good times means enjoying the moment with that person but not worrying about tomorrow. On the other hand, commitment means finding a life long partner. In any kind of relationship there is a constant tension between that of good times and commitment, both between the individuals involved and within each of themselves.
