I woke up to the distant sound of birds tweeting cheerfully in the nearby forest. I laid there for a few minutes, listening to the birds outside, and the peacefulness of the morning. Beams of weak morning sunlight floated through a gap in the curtains, filtering through the glass and onto my arm. I watched as dust swirled in the ray of sunlight, and then disappeared into the shadows. No one else had woken up yet, judging from the still, sleepy silence of the rest of the building. After having a change of clothes and a quick wash, I decided to take a walk in the morning sunshine outside. A cool brisk morning breeze brushed my face gently as I stepped outside onto lush green grass, and turned to walk in the direction of the coastline.
