Columbia University
Studying at Columbia University in the Big Apple It was New Year¡¯s Day of 2003. I was on vacation from the army, and I was making plans for 2003. This year was very important for me, because I was supposed to graduate from my military service in April, and go back to school to finish my degree. But the problem was that my school in Korea was starting in March, so I couldn¡¯t go back to school immediately. I had to find alternatives and I decided to go to the U.S. to study English. There are several reasons that I chose the American Language Program at Columbia University. First, New York is a place called the center of the world, especially for our generation. It¡¯s the center of economics, art, fashion and culture. I expected to spend my free time seeing and experiencing a lot of things on weekends. Experiencing the cultures of other countries is as important as studying English.
