lenin
Lenin had but one aim and one dream to overthrow and control the Russian Government. In 1895 he was exiled to Siberia for propagandising among the workers particularly in St Petersburg. Lenin was already a force struggling and gaining strength. He left Russia in July 1900 living in Brussels, Paris, London and Geneva. He influenced through his pamphlets and his revolutionary newspaper “Iskra” (The Spark) which was very successful in spreading discontent and strengthening the revolutionary circle. In a pamphlet titled What Is To Be Done? (1902), Lenin argued that only a disciplined party of professional revolutionaries could bring socialism to Russia. With the outbreak of revolution in 1905 Lenin returned to Russia. Lenin believed the time had come and studied armed insurrection and whatever literature he could find dealing with street barricade fighting.
